An independent studio from the Netherlands, building apps for families that children remember years later. Two Christmas apps today, and a growing collection of playful and educational work for young families ahead.
The weeks of the shoe by the chimney, the songs and the sacks full of parcels, with a phone call in the middle of it.
He knows the name, the compliment and the little task you filled in.
Reindeer on the roof, a light in the window and a voice from the North Pole in your living room.
Same idea, same care, written and recorded in English.
You do everything beforehand. Your child only has to pick up.
The name, a compliment, a little task, and anything else worth mentioning. Every field is optional.
Play the whole call back first. Change a word, pick another moment in the story, or start again. No surprises.
It rings for real. Your child answers, hears their own name, and can even answer him back.
She went completely quiet, then whispered: he knows my name. She has told everyone at school about it.
Mother of Emma, 5
My daughter asked Santa a question through the app, and when he answered she looked at me as if the room had tilted.
Father of Lena, 6
He asked Sinterklaas a question, got an answer back, and then sat with the phone in his lap for a while. He wanted to hear it again the next morning.
Mother of Tim, 6
Flying Dutchman Studios is an independent studio in the Netherlands, making apps where a little wonder is the point and the craft is the means. Everything is made in house: the writing, the artwork, the voices and the code, so every word a child hears has been weighed by a person.
Our two Christmas apps are the beginning. We are building towards a broader collection for young families: playful, imaginative and educational work, held to the same standard. A parent stays in control, nothing is asked of the child, and no personal data is ever sold or shared.
